To my fellow commuters,
Now I understand that we are all commuting around rush hour and we all need to rush to work. I am still new at taking the train/path into work, but my goodness some of you commuters don’t make things any easier on me. During the rush hour times a Path train comes to Newark every few minutes guaranteeing that I should easily catch one and get to work on time. But, because some of you decide to take up so much space less people can fit on it. I’m talking about the guys with the backpacks who I can only guess are some of my future colleagues since I see most of you get off the path with me and head towards the financial district. I don’t care if you carry your backpack but is it really necessary to keep it on while riding the Path? Can’t you just take it off and leave it at your feet? I am small so it isn’t that hard to fit in small spaces but you make it hard on me when your bulging backpack is being shoved into my face since you’re taller than me and it hits me whenever we arrive at a stop. It also makes it difficult for me to grab onto the rail during the ride so I end up feeling like I’m surfing on my ride to work. You wear your backpack as if it’s your way of making sure you have some sense of personal space. Sorry but get over it. You’re commuting at rush hour into the city of course its going to be crowded. Oh and of course it was very kind of the one commuter that used his backpack to shove me back so he can take a seat right in front of me.
So I’m ending this rant with asking to put your backpack on the floor so other commuters and I can have some room and not form a close bond with your bag or else I might make you feel uncomfortable with my oversized tote bag.
Regards,
Acheewat
